Description

Creamy Vanilla Strawberry Overnight Oats made with oats, vanilla flavor, yogurt, and sliced strawberries for a simple and satisfying make ahead breakfast.


Ingredients

1/2 cup old fashioned oats

3 tablespoons milk of choice

1 tablespoon ground flax seed

1/2 teaspoon alcohol free vanilla flavor such as Alcohol Free Simply Organic or Watkins Clear Vanilla Flavor

1/2 cup vanilla yogurt such as Chobani Vanilla Greek Yogurt or FAGE Vanilla Greek Yogurt

1/2 cup sliced frozen strawberries or 8 whole frozen strawberries sliced

1 to 2 tablespoons sliced almonds

1 wide mouth mason jar with lid


Instructions

1. Add oats to a mason jar and pour in the milk then stir to moisten the oats.

2. Sprinkle in the ground flax seed and add the alcohol free vanilla flavor.

3. Layer the vanilla yogurt on top of the oat mixture.

4. Add sliced strawberries evenly across the top.

5. Gently stir everything together so the flavors blend.

6. Secure the lid tightly and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.

7. Before serving, top with sliced almonds and stir lightly.

Notes

Prepare several jars at once to have breakfast ready for the next few days.

You can use plain yogurt instead of vanilla if preferred.

Warm the oats briefly in the microwave before adding almonds if you like a warm breakfast.
