Description

Creamy vanilla cinnamon overnight oats made with rolled oats, chia seeds, yogurt, milk, warm cinnamon, and alcohol free vanilla flavor for an easy make ahead breakfast.

Ingredients

1 ⅓ cup old fashioned rolled oats

¼ cup chia seeds

½ teaspoon salt

1 ⅓ cup plain Greek yogurt or Icelandic yogurt

1 ⅓ cup milk of choice such as unsweetened almond milk

1 teaspoon alcohol free vanilla flavor such as Simply Organic Alcohol Free Vanilla Flavor or Watkins Clear Vanilla Flavor

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

¼ cup pure maple syrup

Berries or fruit for topping

Toasted nuts

Coconut flakes

Additional maple syrup or honey

Additional yogurt or skyr

Additional milk

Nut butter such as roasted almond butter

Instructions

1. Whisk all ingredients together in a medium bowl until well combined.

2. Cover the bowl and place it in the refrigerator.

3. Let the mixture rest overnight or for at least three hours.

4. For individual servings, divide the mixture into four small containers and cover.

5. Store the containers in the refrigerator for up to four days.

6. When ready to serve, stir and add desired toppings such as berries, nuts, coconut flakes, honey, or nut butter.

Notes

Use old fashioned rolled oats for the best creamy texture.

Steel cut oats remain too firm and quick oats become too soft.

Adjust the milk depending on your desired consistency.

Add toppings right before serving to keep fruit fresh and nuts crunchy.
