Description
A quick and easy homemade sheet pan pizza recipe with crispy edges, gooey cheese, fresh basil, and juicy cherry tomatoes—all baked to perfection in under 30 minutes.
Ingredients
½ pound pizza dough
3 tablespoons olive oil, divided
½ cup pizza sauce
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
4–5 cherry tomatoes, sliced
½ cup fresh basil, chopped, plus more for topping
Instructions
1. Let the dough sit at room temperature, covered, for 20 minutes.
2. Preheat the oven to 500°F and position the rack in the upper third of the oven.
3. Roll the dough out to about 9 x 13 inches to fit a quarter sheet pan.
4. Add 2 tablespoons of olive oil to the sheet pan and press the dough evenly into the pan.
5. Drizzle the remaining tablespoon of olive oil over the dough.
6. Spread the pizza sauce evenly across the dough.
7. Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese evenly over the sauce.
8. Top with sliced cherry tomatoes and half of the chopped basil.
9. Bake for 10–12 minutes until the crust is golden and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
10. Remove from the oven, top with fresh basil and crushed red pepper flakes if desired, slice, and serve.
Notes
This pizza is best enjoyed straight out of the oven. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
You can reheat slices in a skillet or oven to restore crispness.
