Description

A simple and delicious salami pizza recipe made with mozzarella, banana peppers, onions, and fresh basil, baked to perfection in just 5 steps.

Ingredients

1 ball store bought pizza dough

1 tablespoon cornmeal (optional)

1.5 cups pizza sauce

1.5 cups low moisture mozzarella, grated

4-5 oz fresh mozzarella, hand-torn

6-7 slices salami

⅓ cup banana peppers, drained and patted dry

⅓ cup onion, thinly sliced

2 cloves garlic, thinly sliced

1 tablespoon olive oil

3 tablespoon fresh basil

3 tablespoon Parmigiano, grated

Kosher salt

Instructions

1. Preheat oven and pizza stone to 500°F.

2. Roll out the dough and stretch to fit your pizza stone or baking sheet.

3. Place dough on preheated stone sprinkled with cornmeal.

4. Spread pizza sauce over the dough, then add mozzarella cheeses, salami, banana peppers, onions, garlic, and a pinch of salt.

5. Bake for 10–15 minutes until the crust is golden and cheese is melted and bubbly.

6. Let rest briefly before slicing. Top with fresh basil and grated Parmigiano before serving.

Notes

Let the pizza rest a few minutes before slicing to allow the cheese to set.

Tear basil by hand instead of chopping to prevent browning.

Pat banana peppers dry to prevent a soggy crust.

For a crispier base, don’t overload toppings and always preheat your baking surface.
