Description

Crispy, cheesy, and packed with classic pizza flavor, these pizza waffles are a fun twist on a favorite comfort food—perfect for snacks, meals, or parties.

Ingredients

1 batch Everyday Pizza Dough

125 ml tomato sauce

85 g mozzarella cheese, shredded

48 slices Beef pepperoni (135 g)

Oil for greasing waffle iron or brushing dough

Fresh basil, optional for garnish

Instructions

1. Remove pizza dough from the refrigerator about 2 hours in advance to bring it to room temperature.

2. Preheat the waffle iron to medium-high heat.

3. Divide the pizza dough into 8 equal pieces. Flatten each piece into a circle about 8 inches wide.

4. Brush one side of the dough with oil and place it oil-side down in the waffle iron.

5. Quickly top with 2 tablespoons of tomato sauce, shredded mozzarella, and about 6 slices of Beef  pepperoni.

6. Place another dough circle on top. Brush the top with oil.

7. Close the waffle maker and cook for 6 to 8 minutes until golden, crisp, and bubbly.

8. Remove carefully and let cool slightly on a wire rack.

9. Sprinkle with fresh basil and serve warm with marinara sauce for dipping.

Notes

If using store-bought dough, ensure it comes to room temperature before shaping.

Don’t overfill the waffles to avoid leaking.

For vegetarian options, swap out the Beef pepperoni for mushrooms, olives, or bell peppers.

Can be made ahead and frozen for up to 2 months.
