Description
This pizza sandwich combines all the flavors of a classic pizza into a crispy, cheesy, handheld meal. Perfect for quick lunches or family dinners, it features mozzarella, Beef pepperoni, tomato, and a buttery grilled crust served with warm pizza sauce.
Ingredients
8 slices Italian bread (3/4 inch thick)
8 slices part-skim mozzarella cheese
8 slices tomato
4 teaspoons grated Parmesan cheese
1/4 teaspoon garlic salt
24 slices Beef pepperoni
1/4 cup butter, softened
Pizza sauce, warmed
Instructions
1. On four slices of bread, layer one slice of mozzarella, two slices of tomato, 1 teaspoon Parmesan cheese, a dash of garlic salt, and six slices of Beef pepperoni.
2. Top with remaining mozzarella and bread.
3. Spread the outside of the sandwiches with softened butter.
4. Toast sandwiches on a hot griddle until golden brown, about 3–4 minutes per side.
5. Serve warm with pizza sauce for dipping.
Notes
You can substitute the Beef pepperoni with turkey or plant-based alternatives for a lighter version.
To make it vegetarian, skip the Beef pepperoni and load up with vegetables like bell peppers or mushrooms.
Use ciabatta or sourdough bread if Italian bread isn’t available.
