Description

This cheesy pizza pasta recipe combines the flavors of pizza with the comfort of pasta, making a hearty family-friendly casserole.

Ingredients

1 pound ground beef

½ onion, diced

1 clove garlic, minced

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

14 ounce jar pizza sauce

¾ cup water

3 cups rotini pasta, measured before cooking

2 cups mozzarella cheese, divided use

36 slices Beef pepperoni, divided use

Instructions

1. Cook 3 cups of rotini pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain well.

2. Brown and crumble ground beef with onion, garlic, and Italian seasoning in a skillet. Drain excess grease.

3. Preheat oven to 350°F.

4. In a large bowl, mix pizza sauce and water.

5. Add cooked pasta, 1 ½ cups mozzarella cheese, cooked ground beef, and 20 halved slices of Beef pepperoni. Stir well.

6. Spray a 9×9-inch or 11×7-inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray. Pour in pasta mixture.

7. Top with remaining ½ cup mozzarella cheese and arrange remaining Beef pepperoni slices on top.

8. Cover with foil sprayed with nonstick spray and bake for 20 minutes.

9. Remove foil and bake for another 5–10 minutes until cheese is fully melted.

Notes

Spray the underside of aluminum foil to prevent cheese from sticking.

Substitute pizza sauce and water with one jar of spaghetti sauce if preferred.

Add favorite pizza toppings like mushrooms or green peppers.
