Description

A warm, cheesy sandwich layered with sautéed mushrooms and onions, perfect for a hearty morning meal.


Ingredients

1 lb mushrooms, diced

2 tbsp olive oil

1 small onion, sliced

Salt to taste

1 loaf Pepperidge Farm Farmhouse Hearty White Bread

2 cups Tillamook Swiss Cheese

4 tbsp unsalted butter


Instructions

1. Sauté mushrooms in olive oil until golden.

2. Add onions and cook until caramelized.

3. Spoon mixture onto bread and layer with Swiss cheese.

4. Grill each sandwich in butter until golden brown on both sides.

5. Serve hot and enjoy the melted cheese goodness.

Notes

Use unsalted butter for better control over saltiness.

Cook on low heat to let the cheese melt completely.

A mix of cremini or portobello mushrooms adds rich flavor.

Try Sargento Provolone or Kerrygold Dubliner Cheese for variety.
