Description

A creamy and bold horseradish sauce made with sour cream, mayonnaise, prepared horseradish, cider vinegar, mustard powder, and cayenne pepper. This sauce is perfect for grilled meats, vegetables, sandwiches, and more.

Ingredients

½ cup sour cream such as Daisy Sour Cream or Tillamook Sour Cream or Organic Valley Sour Cream

3 tablespoons mayonnaise

2 tablespoons prepared horseradish

1 tablespoon cider vinegar

1/8 teaspoon mustard powder

1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Salt and freshly ground black pepper

Instructions

1. Gather all ingredients.

2. Whisk sour cream, mayonnaise, horseradish, vinegar, mustard powder, and cayenne pepper together in a small bowl until smooth.

3. Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.

4. Chill before serving to allow flavors to develop.

Notes

You can make this recipe with nonfat sour cream or low fat mayonnaise if preferred.

The flavor becomes stronger as it chills, so adjust seasonings slowly.

Prepared horseradish should be fresh for the best flavor and aroma.
