This Fried Nutella Pancake Sandwich Recipe is a golden, crispy delight stuffed with gooey Nutella and coated in sweet cinnamon sugar. Perfect for breakfast or dessert!
Ingredients
1½ cups milk
1 tbsp white vinegar or lemon juice
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
½ tsp baking soda
¼ cup caster sugar
¼ cup vegetable oil
½ cup hot water
10–12 slices white sandwich bread
2 tbsp milk (for brushing)
Nutella (for filling)
¾ cup caster sugar (for coating)
1 tsp ground cinnamon (for coating)
Instructions
1. In a small bowl, mix milk and vinegar. Let it sit for 5–10 minutes to make buttermilk.
2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and sugar.
3. Add the buttermilk mixture, oil, and hot water. Mix until smooth to form pancake batter.
4. Lightly brush one side of each bread slice with milk. Flatten the slices with a rolling pin.
5. Place a dollop of Nutella in the center of one slice. Top with another slice, milk side in.
6. Seal the edges well and cut with a round or desired shape cutter.
7. Dip each sandwich in the pancake batter. Let excess drip off.
8. Fry in hot oil over medium heat for 2 minutes per side or until golden brown.
9. Mix cinnamon and caster sugar in a bowl.
10. While warm, roll each fried sandwich in the cinnamon sugar mix.
11. Serve warm and enjoy.
Notes
Make sure oil is hot enough before frying to avoid sogginess.
Coat sandwiches in cinnamon sugar immediately after frying for best texture.
You can add banana slices or strawberry jam inside for a twist.
