Notes
Texture control starts by choosing full fat mayonnaise and full fat sour cream for a thick stable base
If the sauce seems too thick loosen it with a teaspoon of cold water or a small splash of white vinegar
If it is too thin add a little more mayonnaise to stabilize the texture
Letting the sauce rest for at least one hour improves flavor but you can use it immediately if needed
Store the sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator use a clean spoon each time to keep it fresh up to one week
Do not freeze the sauce because mayonnaise and sour cream separate when thawed creating a grainy texture
To revive chilled sauce that thickens stir in a small splash of water or white vinegar and whisk until smooth
For a spicier option add a few drops of Texas Pete Original Hot Sauce Crystal Hot Sauce or Sriraja Panich Hot Sauce
