Description
A rich, velvety, and easy-to-make creamy garlic white pizza sauce that’s packed with flavor and perfect for homemade pizza night.
Ingredients
2 tablespoons olive oil
4 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon salt
2-3 tablespoons flour
1 1/2 cups half & half (milk works fine too)
Instructions
1. In a skillet on medium-high heat, heat the olive oil.
2. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 3 minutes until fragrant.
3. Whisk in 2 tablespoons of flour, oregano, pepper, and salt.
4. Pour in all the half & half at once, whisking continuously.
5. Cook and stir the mixture until it bubbles and thickens, around 3 minutes.
6. If the sauce needs to be thicker, mix the remaining tablespoon of flour with a bit of milk until paste-like, then whisk it into the sauce.
7. Cook one more minute and repeat the process if needed until the desired consistency is reached.
Notes
You can use regular milk instead of half & half, but the sauce will be slightly thinner.
Store any leftover sauce in the fridge for up to 5 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
To reheat, use low heat and stir in a little milk to regain creaminess.
Use this sauce not only on pizza but also as a dip or pasta sauce.
