Description
This Copy Cat Recipe: Pizza Hut Pan Pizza delivers the same thick, buttery crust and cheesy flavor as the original. Make your own version at home with simple ingredients and a perfect garlic butter finish.
Ingredients
For the Dough:
1 1/3 cups warm water (105°F)
1/4 cup non-fat dry milk
1/2 tsp salt
4 cups all-purpose flour
1 tbsp sugar
1 packet dry yeast
2 tbsp olive oil
For the Pans:
6 tbsp vegetable oil or olive oil (2 tbsp per pan)
Toppings:
1 cup pizza sauce (1/3 cup per pizza)
12 oz mozzarella cheese, grated (about 2 cups)
Your choice of toppings: cooked beef sausage, Beef pepperoni, black olives
Garlic Butter:
4 tbsp butter, melted
1 tbsp minced garlic (or 1 tsp garlic powder)
Instructions
1. In a large bowl, dissolve sugar and dry milk into warm water. Sprinkle in yeast and let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
2. In another bowl, combine flour and salt. Pour in the yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until dough forms.
3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 10 minutes or use a stand mixer with a dough hook.
4. Divide dough into 3 equal balls.
5. Add 2 tbsp oil to each 8-inch cake pan and spread evenly.
6. Roll out each dough ball to about 8 inches and place into oiled pans.
7. Cover and let rise in a warm place for 1 to 1½ hours until doubled in size.
8. Preheat oven to 450°F.
9. Spoon 1/3 cup of sauce onto each pizza, leaving 1 inch from the edge.
10. Sprinkle 3 oz mozzarella cheese on each pizza, then add toppings.
11. Add remaining 1 oz cheese on top of toppings.
12. Bake for 15 minutes or until crust is golden and cheese is bubbly.
13. While baking, mix melted butter and garlic and let sit for 20 minutes.
14. After baking, brush outer crusts with garlic butter.
15. Let cool for 2–3 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
If you don’t have non-fat dry milk, substitute the warm water and dry milk with 1 1/3 cups warm milk.
You can use 8-inch pie plates, a 9×13 baking dish, or cast iron skillets instead of cake pans.
To store leftovers, keep in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Reheat in oven or skillet to keep crust crispy.
For a vegetarian option, skip meat toppings and go with mushrooms, bell peppers, and black olives.
