Ingredients

1/2 cup water divided

2 tablespoons chopped fresh garlic

1 teaspoon garlic powder

2 cups Horizon Organic Heavy Cream or Organic Valley Heavy Whipping Cream

1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley

Salt to taste

Freshly ground black pepper to taste

2 tablespoons cornstarch

Instructions

1. Gather all ingredients and measure them so the recipe moves quickly

2. Bring 1/4 cup water to a gentle boil in a medium saucepan over medium heat

3. Add the chopped garlic and garlic powder to the boiling water and simmer until most of the water has almost evaporated about five minutes

4. Pour in two cups of cream and stir to combine add the chopped parsley and season lightly with salt and pepper

5. In a small cup mix the remaining 1/4 cup water with the cornstarch stirring until fully dissolved

6. Slowly stir the cornstarch mixture into the simmering sauce stirring constantly to prevent lumps

7. Continue cooking and stirring for about three minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the back of a spoon

8. Remove from heat taste and adjust seasoning if needed then serve immediately over pasta chicken vegetables or use as a dipping sauce.

Notes

Use fresh garlic for the most vibrant flavor and include a small amount of garlic powder to round out the profile

If you prefer a slightly richer sauce allow the cream to reduce a little longer over low heat before adding the cornstarch slurry

Stir the cornstarch thoroughly into water before adding to the pan to avoid clumps and add it slowly while stirring

The sauce will thicken as it cools to reheat gently over low heat adding a splash of water or a little more cream to loosen it if necessary

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator up to three days do not freeze as the texture may change when thawed
