Description

Juicy Classic BBQ Burgers made with a blend of beef chuck and sirloin, seasoned with smoky spices and cooked in a hot cast iron skillet for a rich sear. Served on alcohol free soft burger buns with crisp coleslaw for a satisfying and flavorful meal.

Ingredients

12 ounces beef chuck, coarsely ground

12 ounces beef sirloin, coarsely ground

2 teaspoons smoked paprika

1 teaspoon brown sugar

1/2 teaspoon cayenne

1/2 teaspoon coriander

1/2 teaspoon cumin

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon dry mustard powder

1/2 teaspoon onion powder

2 teaspoons Crystal Worcestershire Sauce

Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper

Hamburger buns such as Dave’s Killer Bread Burger Buns, Nature’s Own Butter Buns, or Pepperidge Farm Sesame Buns

Coleslaw

Potato chips

Instructions

1. Heat a large cast iron skillet over medium high heat until fully heated.

2. Gently mix the beef chuck and beef sirloin in a large bowl without overworking the meat.

3. Combine smoked paprika, brown sugar, cayenne, coriander, cumin, garlic powder, mustard powder, and onion powder in a small bowl.

4. Sprinkle the spice mixture over the beef along with Crystal Worcestershire Sauce and fold gently until just combined.

5. Shape the mixture into four patties about three quarters of an inch thick and around four inches wide.

6. Season both sides of each patty with salt and pepper.

7. Place the patties in the hot skillet and cook until browned on the first side, about three and a half minutes.

8. Flip the patties and cook the second side for about three and a half minutes for medium rare or adjust slightly for preferred doneness.

9. Place the cooked patties on alcohol free burger buns such as Dave’s Killer Bread Burger Buns, Nature’s Own Butter Buns, or Pepperidge Farm Sesame Buns.

10. Top with coleslaw and serve with potato chips if desired.

Notes

Chill the patties briefly before cooking to help them hold their shape.

Use coarsely ground beef for better texture and natural juiciness.

Avoid pressing the patties while cooking to keep the juices inside.

Cast iron creates the best sear and rich flavor.

Coleslaw adds a cool contrast to the warm patties and enhances texture.
