Description
Baked French Toast Sticks (Freezer) are golden, soft inside, and crisp outside. They’re easy to bake, freeze, and reheat for busy mornings. Enjoy them with maple syrup or your favorite dip for a quick, satisfying breakfast.
Ingredients
8 slices thick-cut Texas toast bread (Nature’s Own or Sara Lee)
3 large eggs
1½ cups whole milk
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 tablespoons sugar
2 teaspoons alcohol-free vanilla flavor (Simply Organic Alcohol-Free Vanilla Flavor or Watkins Clear Vanilla Flavor)
Cooking spray
Maple syrup for serving
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with foil and coat it with cooking spray.
2. Cut each slice of Texas toast into three sticks widthwise.
3. In a shallow dish, whisk eggs, milk, cinnamon, sugar, and vanilla flavor until smooth.
4. Dip each bread stick into the custard mixture, coating evenly, then shake off excess.
5. Arrange sticks on the prepared baking sheet so they do not touch.
6. Bake for 12 minutes, flip each stick, spray lightly with cooking spray, and bake an additional 12–15 minutes until golden brown.
7. Remove from the oven and serve warm with maple syrup or fruit toppings.
Notes
To freeze, let the baked French toast sticks cool completely. Place them on a baking sheet and freeze until firm, then transfer to a sealable freezer bag.
Reheat frozen sticks in the microwave for 30–60 seconds or bake at 350°F for 8 minutes.
Use an air fryer for extra crispiness (3–5 minutes at 350°F).
For more flavor, add nutmeg, orange zest, or top with crushed cornflakes before baking.
